FAE-1’s 75 MW wind farm will use the most modern wind turbines available to generate electricity on a commercial scale. Out of 129 wind projects which came online in 2008 in the United States, approximately 30 projects were in the range of 50 MW – 100 MW.

  • The site provides an ideal setting and is located on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation (CCSR) within Buffalo and Hyde Counties in South Dakota. The property is designated by the CCSR as “private” or “fee simple” property.

  • The project will have lower construction cost due to its proximity to the nation’s electric grid as the site is strategically located directly across a road from the local Western Area Power Authority sub-station.

  • A lease agreement has been executed between FAE and Donald Binder, a South Dakota resident, giving FAE exclusive rights to 3,400 acres (Exhibit 2).

  • Malcolm-Pirnie / Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) have been selected as the Owner’s Engineer for this project.

  • Malcolm-Pirnie is one of the largest consulting firms in the United States concentrating on environmental disciplines, while SKM is a leading engineering, sciences and project delivery firm, having substantial global wind energy experience.

  • The team brings to the table vast experience in working with project developers, financing institutions, plant owners and operators, governments and other regulatory bodies. The team also has a proven track record in developing projects worldwide including 97 projects involving wind generation and activities related to the industry.
